Jets WR Lucky Whitehead Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Broken Foot

Ian Rapoport reports that Jets WR Lucky Whitehead is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after he suffered a broken foot earlier this week. Whitehead plans to get one more opinion to see if surgery will speed up recovery.


Jets HC Todd Bowles told reporters on Tuesday that WR Lucky Whitehead, unfortunately, sustained a broken foot during Monday’s practice.

The Cowboys elected to move on from Whitehead, even though he had all charges against him dropped and the warrant for his arrest was rescinded in a legal matter that turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

The Jets later claimed him off of waivers.

Whitehead, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.585 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Whitehead appeared in 15 games and caught three passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries to go along with 394 kick return yards and
