Jets WR Robby Anderson Gets Six Months Probation

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Jets WR Robby Anderson pled no contest to charges of reckless driving on Wednesday.

According to Garafolo, Anderson received six months of non-reporting probation and all charges from his two arrests have now been addressed.

The NFL is still reviewing Anderson’s arrests at this time, so it’s still possible that punishment could be handed down at some point.

Last month, prosecutors decided to drop felony charges of resisting arrest with violence against Anderson from an incident that took place last year.

A few weeks before that, an arrest warrant was issued for Anderson, but it was later dropped due to a clerical error by the court.

Back in January, Anderson was caught speeding at 105 mph in a 45 mph speed zone and he allegedly ran two red lights and did not stop for the officer behind him.

Anderson told the arresting officer that he was going to find his wife, “fck her, and nt in her eye.” The police report also says that Anderson bragged about how much money he had and how the officer was just “trying to ruin his fun.”

Last year, Anderson was arrested at a Miami music festival and charged with resisting arrest and obstructing justice.

Anderson, 24, wound up signing on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.62 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $630,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Anderson appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and caught 63 passes for 941 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Anderson as the news is available.
