Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that 49ers sources believe HC Jim Harbaugh is already in the process of losing the locker room due to concerns regarding whether or not he’s “all in.”
49ers coaches were reportedly “irked” by Habaugh’s decision to fly the team to Baltimore so that they could practice against his brother’s team, according to Rapoport.
On top of that, the two sides weren’t able to reach an agreement on a long-term contract this offseason, which has led some to wonder if this will be Harbaugh’s last season in San Francisco.
Rapoport adds that Harbaugh is aware of the concerns and has been trying to appeal to his guys in recent weeks.
Tension between the 49ers front office and Harbaugh is, of course, nothing new, but he has seemingly had the support of his players since he took the job with the 49ers, so this is a fairly interesting report.
Harbaugh is entering the final year of his contract and reports surfaced during the offseason that San Francisco at least entertained the idea of possibly trading their head coach for draft picks.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing plenty regarding Harbaugh and his contract situation in the coming months.
