Joe Flacco Set To Practice, But Lamar Jackson Has “Strong Shot” To Keep Starting Job

Jason La Canfora reports that Ravens QB Joe Flacco is set to return to practice on Tuesday after resting his injured hip for the past two weeks.

However, La Canfora adds that Flacco is unclear of his starting status moving forward and if the Ravens beat the Raiders on Sunday, rookie QB Lamar Jackson has a “strong shot” to keep the job.

Jackson, 21, was taken with the No. 32 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Ravens. He agreed to a four-year, $9,471,652 contract that includes a $5,968,472 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Ravens to pick up in 2021.

In 2018, Jackson has appeared in 19 games for the Ravens and completed 64.5 percent of his pass attempts for 237 yards and one touchdown and one interception. He has also rushed for 258 yards on 54 carries (4.8 YPA) to go along with one touchdown.
