Joe Flacco Still Waiting For His Contract Extension

The Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco reportedly discussioned a contract extension in training camp, but the two sides never came to an agreement. Flacco began his contract season by picking apart the Bengals defense last night as he lead the Ravens to a 44-13 victory. His performance was enough for head coach John Harbaugh to lobby for an extension for his quarterback.

“Pay him whatever he wants,” Harbaugh said, via Mike Florio of  ProFootballTalk. “Pay the man.”

Flacco has said he will let his performance on the field this year be his tool of negotiation. On Sunday, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub signed a four-year $62 million extension. Being that he’s four years younger, never missed a game, and lead the Ravens to the playoffs in each of his four years in the league, Flacco should expect to get a larger contract than that of Schaub.

We have him listed as the No. 6 best available player in our Top 5o Free Agents list.
