John Beck Back As Redskins Starting QB?

Rex Grossman did his best to combat critics during the teams first game by tallying 19-of-26 for 207 yards and a touchdown in the Washington Redskins first preseason game. John Beck appears to be ready to return to the field and by doing so fire up the competition between him and Grossman.

Mike Jones of the Washington Post writes that Becks return to the practice field will most likely lead to him getting a good amount of playing time in the teams next preseason game.

Just a few weeks ago it was being reported that Mike Shanahan had Beck pegged as the teams starting quarterback but he later said that he had made no such assertion and that the job was open. Grossman has looked pretty good so Beck will have to ensure that he performs at a similar level if he plans on winning the job.
