SI.com’s Don Banks reports that the Washington Redskins will go with John Beck as their starting quarterback unless he “falls on his face” during the upcoming preseason games.
“Beck will win the job if it’s even remotely close,” writes Banks.
“I had him as my top (college quarterback) coming out (in 2007). He can do it all. The guy just has never really had a chance in pro football. He hasn’t played,” said Mike Shanahan.
Rex Grossman looked much better than many expected in the teams first preseason game but Bank’s report suggests that even if the competition is close between the two of them, Beck is the odds on favorite to get the nod.
