The Bears have made it official.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post is reporting that John Fox is officially the head coach of the Chicago Bears.

  • Jay Glazer confirms that it’s a done deal and adds that the Bears have signed Fox to a four-year contract.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that former Broncos HC John Fox is in negotiations to become next coach of Chicago Bears.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Fox’s deal to become Bears HC is “all but done,”
  • Ian Rapoport reports that Fox is already making preparations for becoming the next head coach of the Bears.
  • Jay Glazer reports that the Bears and Fox are still working to hammer out an agreement.
  • Jason Cole first reported Thursday that the Bears were hiring Fox as their next head coach.

Last night, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reported that new Bears GM Ryan Pace was believed to be in Denver on Thursday, which was seen as a sign that Chicago was working to get Fox under contract.

Ever since the Broncos “parted ways” with Fox, it was clear that he was at the top of their list. Many have said that the idea of adding Fox as their head coach makes a great deal of sense for the Bears, especially now that they have a rookie GM in place.

The Broncos were 46 and 18 (71.9 percent) since Fox took the job back in 2011. Fox led them to a Super Bowl and won eight playoff games over the course of four years.
