Howard Eskin of WIP and FOX 29 tweets that Jon Gruden could be one of the options that the Eagles consider “IF” they end up moving on without Andy Reid following the season.
According to Eskin, sources have informed him that Gruden does in fact want to return coaching, despite the fact that he recently signed a new extension with ESPN.
Eskin adds that the current group of NFL assistants is considered to be “weak,” which would leave Gruden as a desirable option for them.
Should Gruden become available, there will be other options available to him, but the Eagles job would have to be appealing.
