Jon Gruden Interested In Re-Signing Marshawn Lynch

Mike Garafolo reports that Raiders HC Jon Gruden has told RB Marshawn Lynch that he’s interested in re-signing him next year.

This is assuming that Lynch plans to continue his NFL career.

The Raiders placed Lynch on injured reserve earlier in the week with a groin injury. Jordan Schultz reports that Lynch had surgery last Thursday and is still hopeful of returning later on in the season if possible.

Lynch, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2007. He played three seasons in Buffalo before he was traded to the Seahawks.

Lynch decided to retire after six years with the Seahawks, but later came out of retirement last year and was traded to the Raiders. He’s currently in the final year of his contract and set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2018 season.

Lynch will be an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2018, Lynch has appeared in six games for the Raiders and rushed for 376 yards on 90 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 84 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
