Jon Gruden Interested In The University of Texas HC Job?

OrangeBloods.com is reporting that a “high-level source” has informed them that ESPN analyst Jon Gruden is willing to speak with the University of Texas regarding their head coaching vacancy.

USC athletic director Pat Haden mentioned during an interview on “The Dan Patrick Show” that he had spoken with Gruden before he ultimately hired Steve Sarkisian away from the University of Washington.

He wants to coach in the pros,” said Haden. “If he coaches, he wants to coach in the pros.”

Gruden has been popular name in relation to head coaching jobs for a number of years now, but all indications have been that he is content with his current Monday Night Football job.

The Houston Texans will be looking for a new coach this offseason and there should be at least another three or four jobs available as well. If Gruden is set on returning to the NFL, it would probably be wise to return sooner than later as he has been out of the league for five years now.
