Report: Jon Gruden Leaning Towards Staying With ESPN

Dan Pompei reports that the Jon Gruden is “leaning hard” towards staying in the booth for another season, instead of returning to the league.

There’s been rumors circulating that Gruden could be on his way back to the NFL for years now, but every year he ends up turning down interest to remain with ESPN. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about the topic in the coming days/weeks.

Mike Freeman of CBS Sports reports that ESPN analyst Jon Gruden will interview for NFL head coaching jobs this offseason, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

Freeman adds that Gruden has been in contact with NFL teams and is expected to interview for jobs once the season has ended, which could be “as early as Monday.”

Gruden is still looking for the “right job,” so there’s a chance that he could pass on the available teams again this year. Speculative options could include the Eagles, Chargers and Browns.
