- Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported last week that the Browns were among the team’s with interest in McCown.
Since being released by the Buccaneers, McCown has met with the Bills, Jets, and Bears. Both the Jets and Bears met with McCown at the Combine last week.
Ian Rapoport previously reported that eight NFL teams have shown some level interest in McCown since he became available, so we’ll have to see if more visits are lined up for later in the week.
In the end, it could come down to which teams is willing to give McCown the best opportunity to compete for a starting job.
McCown, 35, threw for 2,206 yards while completing 56.3 percent of his passes to go along with 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 34 quarterback out of 39 qualifying players.
We’ll have more as the news is available.
