Josh Rosen Scheduled To Meet With Browns, Jets, Giants, Cardinals, Broncos, Bills & Chargers

Peter King of TheMMQB.com reports that UCLA QB Josh Rosen will meet with the Browns this week and has six other trips scheduled with the Jets, Giants, Cardinals, Broncos, Bills, and Chargers.

Rosen’s former HC Jim Mora Jr surprisingly said that he felt Sam Darnold would be the better fit for the Browns and his doubled-down on his comments in a conversation with King. However, Mora did explain that this was related only to “fit” and he still believes Rosen is the best quarterback in the draft.

“Josh, I think, without a doubt, is the number one quarterback in the draft. He’s a franchise-changer,” Mara said. “He’s got the ability to have an immediate impact. His arm talent, intelligence, and his ability to see the game and diagnose the game is rare. He’d come to the sidelines after a play and it was uncanny—he could right away say exactly why he made every decision.

According to Mara, Rosen will need to be challenged at the next level to keep his focus.

“He needs to be challenged intellectually so he doesn’t get bored. He’s a millennial. He wants to know why. Millennials, once they know why, they’re good. Josh has a lot of interests in life. If you can hold his concentration level and focus only on football for a few years, he will set the world on fire. He has so much ability, and he’s a really good kid.”

Rosen, 21, figures to be one of the first four quarterbacks to come off the board and could end up going as high as No. 2 overall, depending on what happens with the Giants and teams looking to move up the board for a quarterback.

During his college career at UCLA, Rosen threw for 9,301 yards while completing 60.8 percent of his passes to go along with 59 touchdowns and 26 interceptions over the course of 30 games.
