Julius Thomas To Be A “Major Priority” For The Jaguars

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that the free agent TE Julius Thomas will be a “major priority” for the Jaguars if they miss out on some of the top free agents like DT Ndamukong Suh, WR Randall Cobb, and RB DeMarco Murray.

  • ESPN’s Adam Caplan mentions that as long as the money isn’t out of hand, Thomas would be the a “solid match” for the Jaguars.

In recent days, Thomas has been linked to the Seahawks, who parted ways with veteran TE Zach Miller and even should interest in trading for him at last year’s trade deadline.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media listed the Raiders, Jaguars, and Seahawks as potential landing spots for Thomas earlier in the week.

The Jaguars have the cap space to make Thomas the kind of offer he can’t refuse, assuming that securing a huge contract is a priority for him.

Thomas, 26, caught 43 passes for 489 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns over the course of 13 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 13 tight end in the league out of 67 qualifying players.

We have Thomas listed as the No. 9 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
