Kellen Moore Could Go Undrafted?

It’s always amazing to see how certain players can excel so much in the college game but end up garnering very little interest during the draft and there may not be a better example of this than Boise State QB Kellen Moore.

Russ Lande of the Sporting News sees the quarterback going undrafted after a very poor performance during this week’s practice.

Coming to Mobile, Moore needed to really step up, but things could not have gone much worse for him,” writes Lande. “Not only did he measure under 6 feet, but he showed below-average arm strength and lacked accuracy on passes longer than 10 yards. He did not show the arm strength to make all the NFL throws with good velocity and had a long delivery and release, which made it easier for defenders to break, close and make plays on his passes. Moore will have to be amazing at the Combine and his pro day if he hopes to get drafted.”

It’s worth noting that Lande also predicts that Wisconsin QB Russel Wilson will also go undrafted because of his height.

I can understand the concerns that he’s addressing and Moore showed very little to garner much of any consideration from NFL teams so his chances of going undrafted seem much higher than Wilson’s. Yes Wilson is less than six foot tall, but he’s shown his athleticism and a fairly strong arm. He also made a number of plays during the week and garnered interest from a number of NFL teams. I highly doubt he goes undrafted and seems to be a fourth or fifth-round pick at this point.
