According to Britt, the Titan are “pullin that Jared Cook card,” which appears to be an indication that Tennessee is unwilling to negotiate a long-term deal during the season.
Last year, the Titans were reluctant franchise Cook given that they could end up being on the hook for $10.537 million if it was determined that he qualified as a wide receiver.
Britt, 24, is another guy with huge upside that unfortunately hasn’t produced on the field for whatever reasons. In 2010, Britt totaled 775 yards receiving and nine touchdowns for the Titans offense in just 12 games, but hasn’t been able to come anywhere near that kind of production in the past few seasons.
We have Britt listed as the No. 31 player in our Top 50 – 2014 Free Agents list.
