Kyle & Mike Shanahan Looking To Work Together Again, Rams & Jaguars Options?

Jason Cole of B/R reports that Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan is expected to be one of the hottest coaching candidates this offseason with the Jaguars and Rams are expressing interest in him.

According to Cole, one idea being mulled by Kyle is bringing his father, former NFL head coach Mike Shanahan, along with him to be a team’s head of football operations or president, depending on what the franchise thinks is best.

Cole mentions that the two have a strong bond and would like the opportunity to work together again after spending three years with the Washington Redskins.

Shanahan, 37, was hired by the Falcons as offensive coordinator back in January of 2015. He began his NFL coaching career with the Buccaneers in 2004 and was later hired by the Texans as a receivers coach. Kyle eventually became the team’s offensive coordinator for two seasons before signing with the Redskins as offensive coordinator.

After a brief stint with the Browns as offensive coordinator, Shanahan agreed to take over the Falcons’ offense under HC Dan Quinn.

Shanahan has managed to create one of the strongest offenses in the NFL with the Falcons and could be targeted by a number of teams in the next month or so.

We will have more information regarding Shanahan and potential opportunities as the news is available.
