Kyle Orton Will Start On Sunday

Kansas City Chiefs interim head coach Romeo Crennel confirmed today that Kyle Orton will be under center for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, per Josh Looney.

Rookie QB Ricky Stanzi has been bumped up to backup quarterback. The Packers have already faced Orton once this season when he was playing for the Broncos and managed to throw for 273 yards along with 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Orton dislocated his index finger on his throwing hand a few weeks ago but he should able to throw the ball well enough this weekend. The question will be whether or not he’ll be able to run the teams offense given that he’s only been with the team for a few weeks now.

Orton will be a free agent at the end of the season which is why it’s important for him to put together a strong outing against the leagues best team if he plans on having any hopes of starting again next season.
