Lardarius Webb Unlikely To Be Back With The Ravens Next Year?

Jamison Hensley of ESPN doesn’t expect veteran CB Lardarius Webb to be back with the Ravens next season.

According to Hensley, “it’s hard to justify paying him $8 million in salary in 2015,” especially when there is no way that they can be sure Webb will be healthy enough to suit up.

Webb has already missed three of the team’s first five games this year due to a back injury and Hensley points out that he has missed 20 percent of the Ravens’ games since he entered the league.

Hensley admits that there is still time for Webb to turn things around during the 2014 season and he could always agree to take a pay cut next year that would leave him with a more team-friendly salary.

Webb, 28, signed a six-year, $52.742 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus with the Ravens back in 2012. Unfortunately for Webb and the Ravens, he suffered a torn ACL during the 2012 season and was limited to appearing in just six games.

Baltimore could free up $5 million in cap space next year by cutting Webb loose, so we’ll have to see if this becomes a popular topic for the Ravens next year.
