The NFL Players Association has released a statement regarding Vikings RB Adrian Peterson:

Our union worked with the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian’s representatives on a mutual agreement pending the adjudication of his legal case. Now that his legal matter is resolved, we believe it is Adrian’s right to be treated in a manner that is consistent with similar cases under our collective bargaining agreement. We will pursue any and all remedies if those rights are breached.

Andrew Brandt is reporting that a pending conduct review of Adrian Peterson’s case was part of the negotiated settlement agreed to back in September.

• Florio reports that Peterson did not agree to remain on Commissioner’s Exempt list through the resolution of the conduct policy review.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk believes the league should allow Peterson to play while they are determining the best course of action regarding his reinstatement.

If the NFL refuses to allow Peterson to return to NFL action, Florio suggests his league team should file an immediate lawsuit with a request for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction, which would force the NFL and the Vikings to allow him to play until they resolved his case under the new personal conduct policy.

Ian Rapoport reports that Adrian Peterson being on paid-leave is not considered to be discipline.

• Rapoport suggests that it could be weeks until this situation is resolved, which means it’s unlikely he plays next week.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the letter sent to Peterson from NFL mentions “Felony Injury to Child” even though his case was pleaded to a misdemeanor. The NFL has reportedly requested all info and photos from the case.

Darren Rovell reports that Nike has terminated their deal with Peterson, which was previously suspended.

The NFL has released a statement regarding the Adrian Peterson situation on Thursday.

The NFL advised Adrian Peterson this afternoon that following his plea agreement to resolve his criminal case in Texas his matter will now be reviewed for potential discipline under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.

As part of the process, the NFL has requested that Peterson submit relevant information regarding his case and meet with designated experts who will make recommendations for the Commissioner’s consideration. Peterson also will have the opportunity to have a hearing prior to the issuance of any discipline.

Pending completion of the process, Peterson’s status on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt list will remain unchanged.

Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that the Vikings “continue to have internal discussions” about whether they should allow RB Adrian Peterson to play again this season if he’s reinstated by the NFL.

Roger Goodell would need to reinstate him from commissioner’s exempt list, but Mike Garafolo reports that the league rejected an attempt by Peterson’s reps to have him reinstatement following the plea agreement that was reached on Tuesday.

According to Garafolo, the NFL refused to engage in discussions regarding a settlement over his playing status.
