Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the 49ers situation won’t be resolved until Jim Harbaugh meets with team’s brass and the players following the season.
Rapoport confirms that people close to Harbaugh have said that he’s conflicted about whether to remain in the NFL or take the job at the University of Michigan.
According to Rapoport, Harbaugh is even surprised at how aggressive Michigan has been pursuing him.
Up to this point, Harbaugh has yet to have a face-to-face meeting with Michigan officials, which is likely the reason why things aren’t all that far along. Rapoport mentions that all communication has been done through intermediaries.
Rapoport also confirms that San Francisco will consider young offensive-minded coaching options like Adam Gase and Josh McDaniels to go along with top in-house candidate DL coach Jim Tomsula.
