ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Patriots QB Tom Brady will “probably” wear a glove on his injured right hand for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Jaguars, but he has yet to decide.

  • A source tells Ian Rapoport that Brady made half of his throws on Friday without a glove, despite several stitches. Brady was reportedly “ripping it” and looked great and ready.
  • According to Rapoport, Brady hopes to play without a glove, but the decision may hinge on the weather. As described by Rapoport’s source, if it’s warm enough, Brady will ditch the glove otherwise cold weather –may necessitate a glove on his throwing hand.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft said on Patriots All-Access that he returned to New England after he heard that Tom Brady had injured his hand.

“More than my heart. In Florida, I was out at a restaurant and got a call from my favorite quarterback, FaceTime. Saw his situation. So then I got up here quickly to see first-hand,” Kraft said, per Dianna Russini. “I saw him throw a few out at practice and it made me feel a lot better. But it’s still a challenge. It was an unfortunate force majeure item. So now we hope for the best. He’s a real competitor, as we all know. We have a pretty good balanced team. Sometimes these issues help you ring the team together too.

  • A source tells Adam Schefter that Brady “probably will wear the glove (Sunday) just to protect the stitches,” but he has not indicated whether he has decided to wear it.
  • Jeff Howe reports Brady’s injured right hand is expected to be “just fine” for Sunday’s game.
  • A league source confirmed to Jim McBride that Brady will play in Sunday’s game and no “major problems” are expected as a result of his hand injury.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, Brady’s thumb injury is “not something to shrug off” and it’s “a legitimate issue.
  • Rapoport says that Brady’s right hand collided with RB Rex Burkhead and was “gushing blood” which led to him getting stitches.
  • The good news for Brady is that he’s expected to play on Sunday against the Jaguars and was reportedly throwing the “incredibly well” during Friday’s practice.
  • The one thing to watch for Brady is whether the stitches end up affecting his accuracy and velocity tomorrow.
