LeGarrette Blount Goes Unclaimed On Waivers

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that former Steelers RBĀ LeGarrette Blount has gone unclaimed on waivers and is now a free agent.

Blount reportedly left the field and headed to the locker room before Monday night’s game had concluded after he didn’t receive a single carry against the Titans. One Steelers’ player said that they should have left Blount in Tennessee last night.

Blount, 27, signed aĀ two-year, $3.85 million contract with the Steelers back in March. Releasing him will free upĀ $2Ā million, according toĀ OverTheCap.com’sĀ calculator.

BreerĀ mentioned on Tuesday that a team claiming Blount off of waivers will have to pay him $317,647 for the remainder of the season.

This season, Blount has ran for 266 yards on 65 carries (4.1 YPC) and caught six passes for 36 yards receiving to go along with two total touchdowns.
