LeGarrette Blount Still Working With The First-Team Offense

Scott Reynolds of the  Pewter Report reports that LeGarrette Blount has seen a good majority of the first-team reps during both OTAs and the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp thus far.

“I’ve been working on pass protection and picking up the blitzes this offseason,” said Blount. “That’s the thing I’ve been working on the most. I can say that’s what I’ve improved on the most.”

Buccaneers running backs coach Earnest Byner told the media that he has had no issues with Blount in the passing game and that he has done everything that has been asked of him. These areas have been an obvious concern in year’s past, so it’s at least encouraging to see him openly addressing these issues. Doug Martin is expected to cut into Blount’s playing time, so it will be interesting to see how things are divided.
