LeSean McCoy To Start Against Redskins

Eagles head coach Andy Reid added that RB LeSean McCoy will still have a limited role in this weekends game.

“I’m going to keep a close eye on him,” said Reid, per Sheil Kapadia. “It won’t be a normal workload like you’d see during the season.”

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is expected to start Sunday against the Redskins after being cleared from a concussion he suffered a month ago, per Jeff McLane.

Since McCoy is considered one of the Eagles core pieces, it makes sense that he would start, unlike quarterback Michael Vick, who isn’t expected to play again this season. Rookie Bryce Brown could see time as a change-of-pace or third-down back. Head coach Andy Reid mentioned that he expects to keep Brown in the mix, even with McCoy, so it seems likely that he could see close 10 touches this weekend.

McCoy’s return should add a little more dynamic to the Eagles offense. Before suffering a concussion, McCoy was averaging 98.5 total yards per game.
