Lions Activate DE Cornelius Washington, Sign WR Dom Williams

The Detroit Lions announced Friday that they’ve signed WR Dom Williams to a contract and waived WR Deontez Alexander with an injury designation.

The Lions also activated DE Cornelius Washington from the Non-Football Injury.

Should Alexander clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Lions’ injured serve list.

Washington, 27, is a former sixth-round pick by the Bears in the 2013 NFL Draft. He finished out his four-year rookie contract with the Bears before signing on with the Lions this past March.

In 2016, Washington appeared in 15 games for Chicago and recorded 20 total tackles, two sacks, and one pass defense. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 54 overall defensive lineman out of 127 qualifying players.
