Lions Activate Rookie LB Kyle Van Noy From I.R. & Reinstate DL C.J. Mosley

The Detroit Lions announced Monday that they have activated rookie LB Kyle Van Noy injured reserve with the designation to return and reinstated DL C.J. Mosley, per Tim Twentyman.

Van Noy underwent core muscle surgery several weeks ago, which prompted the Lions to place him on short-term injured reserve. Detroit moved up in the draft to select Van Noy out of BYU at No. 40 overall.

Mosley, 31, was reportedly sent home from London last week after he was caught with marijuana in his hotel room.

He’s in the final year of his two-year, $2.75 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent next year. He has appeared in seven games this year and recorded 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumbles this season.

Pro Football Focus has Mosley rated as the No. 18 defensive tackle in the league this season with solid ratings in both run and pass defense.
