Lions Sign WR Jeremy Kerley

Update:

The Detroit Lions officially announced the signing of WR Jeremy Kerley on Monday.

Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting that the Lions have agreed to terms on a contract with former WR Jeremy Kerley.

  • Kerley receives a one-year deal worth over $1 million, according to Caplan.

Kerley reportedly had interest from the Bills and Chiefs, but it appears the Lions stepped in and got a deal done.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Kerley to a contract won’t factor into the Lions’ 2017 compensatory picks.

Kerley, 27, was in the final year of his four-year, $16 million contract that included $5.4 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that cleared $1.3 million cap space for the Jets.

In 2015, Kerley appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and totaled 16 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown. He also contributed 411 punt return yards.
