Lions Announce Several Coaching Moves

On Wednesday, the Detroit Lions announced several coachings moves, as they round out their staff under new HC Matt Patricia.

The moves made by the Lions include:

  • Hired Paul Pasqualoni as defensive coordinator coach
  • Hired Jeff Davidson to coach offensive line coach
  • Moved Al Golden moving to linebackers coach
  • Moved George Godsey to quarterbacks coach
  • Hired Brian Stewart as defensive backs coach
  • Hired Chris White as tight ends coach

Godsey, 39, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2011 as an offensive assistant. He worked his way up to tight ends coach before he was hired by the Texans as their quarterbacks coach in 2014. A year later, Houston elevated him to offensive coordinator but elected to move on after two seasons.

The Lions later hired Godsey as their defensive assistant-special projects.

In 2016, the Texans ranked No. 28 in total points, No. 29 in total yards, No. 8 in rushing yards and No. 29 in passing yards
