Lions Bringing In Veteran RB Justin Forsett For Visit Monday

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Lions have scheduled a visit with free agent RB Justin Forsett for Monday.

On the surface, this seems like a good landing spot for Forsett, as they could not only use some depth at running back, but a veteran presence could be a plus for them.

Forsett, 30, was actually among the team’s roster cuts coming out of the preseason but he later signed a nearly identical contract with the Ravens right before the start of the regular season. He received a two-year, $6 million contract from the Ravens.

The Ravens will still owe Forsett his $3 million base salary because he’s a vested veteran who was on their roster to open the year.

In 2016, Forsett has appeared in three games and ran for 98 yards on 31 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 36 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
