Lions CB Ian Wells Reverts To I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Detroit Lions officially placed CB Ian Wells on injured reserve Thursday after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Wells, unfortunately, suffered a serious knee injury a few days ago during training camp practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wells, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Ohio before signing on with the Lions just days after this year’s draft. The Lions placed him on waivers with an injury designation on Wednesday.

During his five-year college career at Ohio, Wells recorded 141 tackles, six tackles for a loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, a recovery, two interceptions and 28 pass defenses.
