The Detroit Lions claimed DT Khyri Thornton off of waivers from the Patriots on Friday, according to the NFL Transactions release.
- Thornton will take DT Ishmaa’ily Kitchen‘s roster spot, who was waived today.
Thornton, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Packers back in 2014. However, despite his draft status, Thornton lasted just a little over a year in Green Bay before he was waived over a month ago.
The Patriots wound up claiming him off waivers, but Thornton has been on and off of their practice squad since then.
Thornton has yet to appear in an NFL game
