Lions Claim OL Michael Ola Off Waivers From Chargers

Michael Gehlken reports that the Lions claimed OL Michael Ola off of waivers from the Chargers on Tuesday.

Ola, 27, spent the past two years with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes after he went undrafted out of Hampton back in 2011 before he got an opportunity with the Miami Dolphins in January of last year. He lasted just a few months in Miami before he was cut and later claimed off of waivers from the Bears.

The Chargers wound up signing him to their practice squad at the start of the season, but he’s been on and off of the team’s active roster since then.

This season, Ola has been active for two games this season.
