Lions Considering A Move up For Sammy Watkins Or Staying At No. 10

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Lions are considering either a trade up for Clemson WR Sammy Watkins or sticking with the No. 10 overall pick.

  • Rapoport mentions that the Lions were so interested in Watkins that they were actually in contact with him “nearly every day.”
  • Rapoport adds that Detroit’s interest in Watkins is “real.”

This probably doesn’t come as a much surprise as it has been a widely covered topic for some time now, but with the draft just hours away, it’s interesting to hear what teams are reportedly thinking.

The Lions signed Golden Tate in free agency, but adding Watkins to their offense could give them the most productive offense in the entire NFL.

We actually have the Lions trading down to No. 5 overall with the Raiders and taking Watkins in our final 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
