Lions Create $2.2M Of Cap Room By Reworking WR Marvin Jones’ Contract

Adam Schefter reports that the Detroit Lions restructured the contract of WR Marvin Jones on Tuesday and freed up $2.2 million of cap space.

Jones, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract before signing a five-year, $40 million contract that includes $20 million guaranteed with the Lions in 2016.

Jones stands to make base salaries of $7 million and $6.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Jones has appeared in seven games for the Lions and caught 26 passes for 387 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
