Lions Expected To Be In The Mix For DT Ndamukong Suh During Free Agency

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Detroit Lions will ” definitely be in the mix” for impending free agent DT Ndamukong Suh this offseason.

According to Rapoport, the Lions want Suh to gauge his value on the open market, and then come back to them with the offers he’s received from prospective teams.

The Lions are basically forced to allow Suh to reach the open market next year, as it would run them $26.9 million for the 2015 season to use their franchise tag on him.

Suh should have no shortage of suitors and the bidding is likely to produce some massive contract figures that could result him getting more than Gerald McCoy‘s six-year $95.2 million contract that included $51.5 million guaranteed.

Suh, 27, has recorded 51 tackles, 8.5 sacks and three pass defenses over the course of 16 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 defensive tackle in the league.

We have Suh ranked No.1 in our Top 25 – 2015 Free Agents List.

  1. Suh’s only comparable player does appear to be Merlin Olsen so far… Suh is capable of improving by adding another move as well
