Lions Hosted South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney On Wednesday

According to Kyle Meinke of Mlive.com, the Lions hosted South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney for an official visit on Wednesday.

  • Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the week that Clowney was visiting with the Lions at some point.

It’s a little surprising to see the Lions bring in Clowney for a visit given that they currently hold the No. 10 overall pick. Detroit would almost certainly have to trade up to secure Clowney, but there is no question that adding Clowney to their defensive line could make for an impossible defensive front for opposing offensive lines to deal with.

It appears as though many see Clowney going No. 1 overall at this point, which includes guys like John McClain who had maintained for months that the Texans were taking a quarterback to start the first round.

Clowney has either worked out for the Rams, Falcons and Texans or will do so in near future.

We have Clowney going to the Texans in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
