Lions Hosting CB DeShawn Shead For Visit

Cameron Foster, the agent for Seahawks CB DeShawn Shead, mentioned during an interview with 950 KJR (via Curtis Crabtree of KJR) on Saturday that his client will visit with the Lions this week.

Foster also explained during the interview that Seattle will release Shead on Monday after his contract tolls for the 2018 season.

There was some confusion about Shead’s free agent status, given that he had missed time while on the PUP list.

Shead worked his way back from a torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee that he suffered during the divisional round of the playoffs in 2016.

Shead, 28, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State back in 2012. He returned to the Seahawks on a one-year exclusive rights contract for the 2016 season.

Last year, Seattle declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent but later brought him back on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

In 2017, Shead appeared in two games for the Seahawks and recorded two tackles and no interceptions or pass defenses.
