Lions Meeting With Seahawks RB Mike Davis Saturday

According to Ian Rapoport, the Lions are bringing in former Seahawks RB Mike Davis for a visit on Saturday, as they continue to take a look at available running backs. Depending on how things go, Rapoport says that Davis has other visits lined up.

So far, the Lions have met with DeMarco Murray and Frank Gore and are scheduled to meet with LeGarrette Blount today.

This is the first reported interest in him since the free agent market officially opened.

Davis, 25, was taken in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the 49ers. The Seahawks claimed him off of waivers from the 49ers back in May but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

Seattle later added Davis to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster during the season.

The Seahawks declined to tender Davis an offer as a restricted free agent, which is why he’s testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2017, Davis rushed for 240 yards on 68 carries (3.5 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 131 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
