Lions Place LB Jon Bostic On Injured Reserve

The Detroit Lions announced that they’ve placed LB Jon Bostic (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday.

There has been some talk that Bostic could be a candidate to be brought back later on in the season, so that’s at least something to keep an eye on.

Bostic, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. After two years in Chicago, the Bears dealt him to the Patriots for a sixth-round pick that later became Jordan Lucas.

However, the Patriots elected to trade Bostic to the Lions for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2017 shortly after this year’s draft.

Bostic is currently in the final year of his four-year, $3.941 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $842,381 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Bostic appeared in 11 games for the Patriots and recorded just two tackles.
