Lions Place TE Brandon Pettigrew On I.R. & Sign TE Bear Pascoe

The Detroit Lions placed TE Brandon Pettigrew on season-ending injured reserve and signed veteran TE Bear Pascoe to a contract, according to Tim Twentyman.

Pettigrew, 30, is in the second year of his four-year, $16 million contract that included $8 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $2.8 million this season and another $3.65 million in 2016.

This season, Pettigrew totaled seven receptions for 67 yards receiving and a single touchdown over the course of eight games.

Pascoe, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2009. He spent a number of year with the Giants before signing a one-year contract with the Falcons last year.

The Bears elected to sign him to a one-year contract this past April, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts.

In 2014, Pascoe appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons, but recorded just two receptions for three yards and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 148 snaps last year to go along with a very respectable rating as a run-blocker.
