Lions Place Third-Round CB Alex Carter On Short-Term I.R.

The Detroit Lions have placed third-round CB Alex Carter on injured reserve with the designation to return to on Sunday, according to Dave Birkett.

This move will, obviously, cost Carter the first eight games of the season, but he’ll at least be back in time for the second half.

Carter, is in the first year of his  four-year, $3.058 million contract that included a $688,748 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $435,000 (2015),  $525,000 (2016), $615,000 (2017), and $705,000  (2018) over the remainder of the contract.
