Lions Placing DT Tyrunn Walker On Season-Ending I.R.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Lions are placing DT Tyrunn Walker on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday with a broken fibula.

  • However, Rapoport adds that the Lions expect Walker to a make full recovery.

It was clear that Walker had sustained a very serious injury, as ESPN wouldn’t show a reply of the injury during last night’s telecast.

Lions HC Jim Caldwell told reporters after Monday night’s game that Walker had a “significant” ankle injury.

I anticipate the doctor’s got to look at him and that kind of thing, but it’s pretty significant,” Caldwell said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Walker, 25, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. He wound up signing a one-year, $1.75 million with the Lions back in March, which means he’ll be an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2015, Walker appeared in four games for the Lions and recorded nine total tackles.
