Lions Promote WR Andy Jones To Active Roster

According to Tim Twentyman, the Lions have promoted WR Andy Jones from their practice squad to the active roster on Saturday.

Jones, 24, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville back in 2016. He spent his rookie season on the Cowboys’ practice squad and returned to Dallas on a futures contract the following year.

The Cowboys waived Jones coming out of the preseason last year and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Texans. He later joined the Lions before eventually being promoted to their active roster in December of last year.

Jones was placed on the PUP list coming out of the preseason and just recently activated. Detroit waived him and signed him to their practice squad once clearing waivers.

In 2017, Jones has appeared in one game for the Texans but has yet to record a statistic.
