Lions RB Jahvid Best Likely To Miss The First Six Weeks Of The Season

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best likely to miss the team’s first six regular season games after the team places him on the PUP list.

This was certainly a possibility, considering that Smith has yet to receive medical clearance following a season-ending concussion that he suffered last year. The Lions will have to look to Kevin Smith to handle the workload for the time being, as Mikel Leshoure will be suspended for the first two games of the season.

There have been reports that the Lions are monitoring veteran running back options like Ryan Grant, but Joique Bell or Keiland Williams figure to be given a shot to impress during the team’s upcoming preseason games.

At this point, you have to wonder whether or not it’s really worth it for Best to continue his NFL career. He’s suffered multiple severe concussions, dating back to his time in college.
