Lions Re-Sign DE Darryl Tapp

The Detroit Lions have re-signed DE Darryl Tapp to a one-year contract worth $870,000, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

  • The agreement includes a signing bonus $80,000 for Tapp.

Tapp, 30, would have be an unrestricted free agent next week, but there was talk that the Lions could bring him back.

This is a very reasonable contract, so it seems likely that Tapp will still have to earn his roster spot in training camp.

Last year, Tapp appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and recorded 17 tackles, a half sack, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses. He played total of 288 snaps last season, according to Pro Football Focus.
