Lions Re-Sign K Matt Prater To A Three-Year Deal Worth $9M

Mike Klis of the Denver Post, citing two NFL sources, reports that the Lions have re-signed K Matt Prater to a three-year contract.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Prater will receive a three-year contract worth $9 million.

Prater, 30, signed on with the Lions back in October of last year after the Broncos made the decision to release him just a few days after he was reinstated from a four-game suspension.

Last year, Prater converted 21 of 26 field goal attempts (80.8 percent) for the Lions and made all 21 of his extra point tries. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 26 kicker in the league out of 57 qualifying players.
