The Detroit Lions officially released WR Damian Copeland on Tuesday and waived LB WR Ryan Spadola with the injury designation.
Copeland, 25, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville back in 2014. He was waived with the injury designation in each of his first two years in the NFL and later reverted to the injured reserve list.
The Jaguars elected to cut him loose towards the end of March. The Lions later signed him to a contract in June only to cut him loose last week.
Copeland has yet to appear in an NFL game.
During his three years at Louisville, Copeland recorded 116 receptions for 1,521 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.
