Lions Release DT Vaughn Martin, Sign LB Kalonji Kashama & WR Cody Wilson

Tim Twentymen of DetroitLions.com reports that the Lions are signing LB Kalonji Kashama and WR Cody Wilson on Monday.

In order to make room for the two new additions, the Lions are also releasing veteran DT Vaughn Martin, according to Twentymen.

Martin, 28, signed with the Lions back in March, so he lasted just a few months with the team. He is coming off hernia surgery, and struggled for much of the 2013 season.

Kashama went undrafted out of Eastern Michigan, so he’ll obviously have to compete for a roster spot this summer. During his four-year college career, he totaled 104 tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss, 12 sacks, and four forced fumbles.

Wilson actually signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan last year, so it appears as though the team is willing to give him another shot at cracking the 53-man roster in OTAs and training camp.
